UNIMA
What is UNIMA ?
The oldest international theatre organisation in the world, the UNion Internationale de la MArionnette (UNIMA) is a Non-Governmental Organization affiliated to UNESCO, it is a signatory of the 2005 convention on the protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions. Its members who come from all over the world contribute to the development of puppetry art.
My voluntary work within UNIMA :
Elected to the UNIMA Executive Committee since 2021 for a 4-year term, I chair the Europe commission there.
I have also been an international councilor to THEMAA, the French center of UNIMA since 2015.
I led or participated in several international projects within UNIMA:
2023: Coorganisation and welcome of the participation of Academy of Arts of Kharkiv within the framework of the World Puppetry Day, with a view to a twinning between the City of Charleville-Mézières Kharkiv to promote the puppetry’s art and the solidarity with Ukraine.
2022: Co-piloting of the "professionalization" working group within the EVOC project to develop a common reflection on the professional structuring of puppeteers at European level.
2022: Expertise to award the Michael Meschke Prize to Iryna Rudenko and her son Roman, director of the Mariupol (Ukraine) Puppet Theater to reward the preservation and revival of the Puppetry Arts, and organisation of the official ceremony in Gadagne Museum (Lyon) in 2023.
2022: Expertise for AVIAMA (International Association of Puppet Friendly Cities) to support the Chernihiv puppet theater in Ukraine.
2021 : Coorganisation and welcome of Afhgan puppeteers at the world puppet theater festival in Charleville-Mézières.
2020-21: General coordination of 21 ResiliArt UNIMA round tables, in connection with UNESCO to collect testimonies of artists' resilience during the Covid 19 pandemic.
2018: Member of the international jury for a call for papers by young authors.
