Weaving Ukrainian poems :

Poetry translation workshop - 2024

As part of an event I am co-organising with the Lyon-Ukraine association and the Magnifique Printemps, I took part with Viktoriia Chapourna in bilingual readings of Ukrainian poems alongside Bruno Doucey and Ella Yevtouchenko.

Poetry from Dnipro and literature from Mariupol - 2023

In collaboration with the art gallery Le Bleu du Ciel and the Lyon-Ukraine association, I co-organised a literary and poetic evening as part of the "War. Ukraine 2022" with Dnipro poet Olena Maleeva and Mariupol writer Iryna Sosnovtseva.

Cultural support for Ukraine - 2022

As part of a major evening for peace and in solidarity with the Ukrainian people organised on 18 May 2022 at the Maison de la Danse by Lyon's main cultural institutions, I offered the public a reading by several Ukrainian authors, in collaboration with Ukrainian actress Viktoriia Chepourna:

Ciel fermé, a previously unpublished excerpt from a play by Neda Nejdana.

I am a poet who writes invisible poems by Olena Herasymiuk.

Both texts have been translated into French by Ella Yevtouchenko.

Meeting with the poet Ella Yevtushenko - 2022

For the opening of the Printemps des Poètes 2022 festival, the Social Palace and the Espace Pandora in Lyon have given me carte blanche to talk about Ukrainian poetry.

I asked the poet Ella Yevtouchenko to record a video to present her poetry, written five days after the large-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

Bruno Doucey, who was present at the event, then suggested that we work together on an anthology of Ukrainian poetry in French...

Recognition and dignity - 2018

Bogdan-Oleg Gorobchouk, Ella Yevtouchenko, Lesyk Panasiouk, Daryna Gladoun, Taras Malkovytch and Lida Zinko are young Ukrainian poets born after the fall of the USSR. They have always lived in an independent Ukraine. Their generation entered adulthood with the "revolution of dignity", which began with spontaneous movements by Ukrainian youth in 2013 on Maïdan (Kyiv's independence square). A generation that wants to be free to choose the future of its country. It was after the extremely heavy-handed intervention of the forces of order that the Euromaidan revolution became intergenerational.

This protean evening seeks to give voice to this young Ukrainian poetry through shadow theatre, videos, materials and voices. It's a "weaving of poems" that echoes the watchwords of these young people: rebirth and dignity.

The evening is also a cross-cultural affair, with French artists (Clément Peretjatko for the shadow theatre and Loïc Risser reading the poems in French) performing alongside the Ukrainian poets, who read in their own language.
