A series of paper heads inspired by Motankas (traditional Ukrainian dolls) for my Maïdan inferno show.

The characters are Ukrainian citizens who took part in the Maïdan revolution.

I wanted to work with a traditional symbol to highlight the cultural aspect of this revolution, which resulted in the rehabilitation of the historical and artistic movements that defined an independent Ukraine.

The choice of paper, with its brittle aesthetic, underlines the fragility of the revolutionaries.
