Who I am?

French puppeteer from Polish and Ukrainian immigration to Rhône-Alpes and based in Lyon, I work as a director, performer, sculptor, teacher and/or artistic advisor to several teams and artists. I am also a European Cultural Expert for the Creative Europe program.

I studied the history of theater and cinema at the University of Rennes2, the art of puppeteering at ESNAM (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts de la Marionnette) and the engineering of international cultural projects at SciencesPo Lyon.

My objective is to participate in the international circulation of artworks and ideas, whether through the arts of puppetry or other artistic disciplines. I am attentive to the expression of diversity and cultural rights and equality between women and men.

My professional experience has led me to participate in or lead international projects, particularly in the Balkans (Kosovo, Albania, Croatia and Serbia), in Africa (Egypt, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Tunisia), in Oceania ( Sri Lanka) and in Europe (Ukraine, Poland).

In parallel with my studies at the ESNAM of Charleville-Mézières, I coordinate during my three years of scholarship many events around the arts of poetry. I met in 2004 in Zagreb then in Paris the poet of Croatian origin Radovan Ivsic. Fascinated by his "écart absolu" and by his poetic and political writing, I wanted then to devote myself exclusively to dramaturgies specific to the art of puppetry.

It was at the Théâtre du Hangar - Center for Art and Research - Cie Jacques Bioules in Montpellier that I created my first performance Vané in 2006.

I then became an associate stage director to the National Theater of Kosovo - artistic director Jeton Neziraj to create Les Arnaqueurs there in 2009 and I worked for several years with various theaters and teams in Balkans, including Qendra Multimedia.

I set out to discover Ukrainian culture following the Maïdan movements in 2013-14 and, after having tour performances from my repertoire while leading Franco-Ukrainian collaborations, I became an associate director at the Chernihiv Puppet Theater (Ukraine) in 2019 and at the Academic Theater of Drama and Comedy in Dnipro for Maïdan Inferno (Ukraine) in 2022-24. I have also worked with several cultural places in Mariupol, including the sadly famous theater since its deliberate destruction by the Russian army. Sensitive to this approach, the 2019 edition of the IN festival in Charleville-Mézières co-produced the French version of Maïdan Inferno.

Elected councilor for the Union Internationale de la Marionnette by the members of THEMAA, I coordinated, in conjunction with UNESCO, the ResiliArt UNIMA project which aimed to collect testimonials from artists-puppeteers facing the Covid 19 crisis in the world. I have been a member of the Executive Council of UNIMA International since 2021 and I chair the Europe Commission there.

I have also been elected secretary of the Lyon-Ukraine association since 2022 and this allows me to support civil society through my civic volunteering.
